SOLD! 1968 Dodge Charger CA-$26,000.
« on: June 17, 2015 - 05:25:27 PM »
Sold.

1968 Dodge Charger hardtop Survivor. Been stored away for nearly 20 years and will be looking for a nice home. Fender tag and body numbers are all there. was original a 383, now has a good running 440 in it. Automatic, power steering, disc brakes, 83/4 rearend, bucket seats and more. Super clean body, vinyl top was removed to check for rust and found none. The only rust found was a little bit starting on rear window inside corned and pass side lower quarter panel. Super clean body, trunk, frame rails, cowl, fenders, hood, fenders are in great condition, just some faded paint. Was tempted to clean up the paint, clear it and throw on some black rims to give it that sweet patina look, but figured the new owner can do what they want to it. In the next couple weeks, the brakes will get a good cleaning, adjustment, full tune-up on 440, but if you want to do that yourself and save a few bucks, then we can work something out.

located near Santa Rosa, CA
price is $29.8k/obo

It's too pricey. I'd like to get one but I've turned down a better one for less money. It's not hard to find a finished car for 15-20 more.

Car had been posted on various mopar forums. Its more than likely a flip. Price is beyond obsurd. For 5K more you can have an original 440 Dana 60 4 speed 1969 Charger fhats currently in Ohio and in running condition.

I think the price he quoted me was just a feeler price, so I don't think he is hard set on that number. He probably figured someone was going to lowball him badly, so he'll probably take the highest offer he gets.

If that is the going price, then my '68 Charger's value just went up dramatically!

Who is this 'guy' that you are talking about? Is the car even titled to him? How long has he owned it? What exactally is wrong with the brakes? Does he have any service history or did he just get it and is this a flip?

Well that's not very polite :nono: ....He won't get $29K if he doesn't ask.... :smilielol:

I think EBay with no reserve is a good way to find out what some one is willing to pay for a car.
