Where does this little guy go? Fell out when I removed RR Drum!

Passenger side under one of the axle bolts. It prevents the bearing adjuster from moving.

Got it!  Anyone got a pic of the location and which bolt it goes on?

should be easy to spot, once you pull the drum off i am thinking there should be a nut missing on one of the axle flange as thats what would have held it on.

It doesn't really matter what stud it goes on.  As long as it holds the adjuster from moving.  If the adjuster moves, your axle end play changes.  You need some play in the axles to compensate for heat expansion.  That piece is only used with the stock tapered bearings.  If you have sealed "green" bearings on the car, that piece isn't used.

Would be if I hadn't pulled the axle w/o looking...      I pulled the driver side first w/o incident so I went at the passenger side the same way.

Pulled them so I could take out the differential.

once you have the threader adjuster set for correct end play just hook it into the adjuster & tighten down the nut , it can be under any nut

Thanks everyone!  Do you just turn the adjuster by hand or use something like a screwdriver?  First time adjusting mine.

It depends how easily it will turn , , you want .008 - .010 end play .
I  use a pin punch or screwdriver to turn it , when you get close hit the end of the axles with a hammer to make sure the brgs are fully seated to make sure the end play is set correctly .
Make sure you pack the brgs with grease before installing as they will be dry / no grease from the diff

Got it!  I want to put it back together again tonight but have the foam gaskets on order so it will be tomorrow.  Car hasn't been on the road for a long time.  Been killing me but tomorrow's the day!

This is why I want to switch to rear discs. I always have left over parts when I do my drum brakes. LOL

I drove my 71 Cuda home and the brakes were not too good (about 20 miles) When going over them I found out why. New riveted shoes with absolutely NO self adjuster hardware installed!!! The guy must have had a PILE of extra parts when he was done. GEE I WONDER WHERE THESE GO??? Scary that someone would even think to work on brakes like that.
