GAAHH!!! Finish your challenger!!!    :pullinghair:

Seriously, cool truck! I would leave it as a 5th Wheel and shorten it as planned, its a classic just the way it is....

Haha, yeah i hear ya, alterkation is at roseville so will be going over to get it on the 30th/31st when i get home then build a little cart to get the motor in. i am getting closer for sure but i am pretty pumped about the cab over. they for sure look cool shortened.

Thx bruce

As much as I am familiar with driving a lot of heavy trucks I am not familiar with modifying them , , at least you know you have an Eaton diff , the axles will be floaters so you can slide the axles out without removing the wheels at all , but you want to undo the lock nuts & remove the hubs , I am not sure what would fit the Eaton diff but it should be possible to swap some hub onto the diff housing .
As for disc brakes they are really a new thing almost every heavy truck uses drum which is retarded IMO , possibly a whole diff with air ride & disc brakes maybe the easiest swap

Yeah I am sure my buddy will know the best route to go, but I may be possible like you said to just swap the hubs for ones that will except more modern wheels and use drums. I know he mentioned a rear out of a 550 series truck, and yes it may make sense if I'm swapping crap maybe get it all in one shot. Trying to find a pic of something similar with super singles on it but no luck, think it would be cool but not sure about the turning radius up front with such a wide tire

The 550 axle is a Dana 110... Massive... If your going to seriously work this thing hauling a double or triple car trailer its a good choice but if all your hauling is a 5th wheel single car trailer it's overkill... Just get a Dana 80...

Hey, yeah massive for sure but would I be able to run Alcoa wheels ?  Does the Dana 80  just have the regular 8 bolt wheels? Sorry for the questions just not to familiar with this type of stuff, but better read up on it now.

Thx Bruce

Funny I'm more into this build than a e-body!  :bananasmi  First time I saw it posted I has visions of a cool retro ramp truck. Wish we lived closer I'd love to give you a hand!  :2thumbs:
