70 Cuda - Which Window Needs Adjusting?
« on: June 20, 2015 - 11:02:02 AM »
First tech query for me!

I have a gap at the top of my drivers side window and I need to make some adjustment. Problem is, how do I tell if it's the front window that needs adjusting, or the back quarter window?

The front and back glass is sitting pretty square in the opening, so I don't know if the front glass needs kicking back, or the back glass needs kicking forward! :dunno:

Anyone had this problem?

I would kick the quarter glass forward first, check fit in weather strip when up. Then check alignment. It may be necc to move both.  Let us know how it gos.  :2thumbs:

You will probably end up adjusting both, so it is not to hard, there might even be a sticky for it

Before you start making adjustments check the window guides for excess movement...  Roll the 1/4 window down an inch & try shifting it forward & rearward, if it moves more than 1/4" check the guides for wear.... :2cents:

Check how the very front of the front window lines up and seals. Then check how the back of the rear window lines up and seals. You should be able to figure out which is off that way. In my experience with lining up windows......   loosen everything a little and move everything a little and expect to cuss a hellva lot !!

Thanks for the advice guys, I'll try and get it done in the week.

Can't believe I didn't spot it when I changed all my door panels! Now it's all got to come out again. :banghead:
