Giving up on OEM Booster and Master C

Can anybody recommend the best brake booster and master combo to purchase out there?   Mine are needing to be rebuilt and I'm not wanting to rebuild something that can be improved.

71' cuda 383 - front disc/rear drum - currently has a pancake and master c setup.

What would you put on?

Is there a part number casted into the bottom of the master cylinder ? I may like to buy it from you...

Car has a firm feel power steering setup.

Can you post a link etc so I know what to buy?

Call DoctorDiff.com and tell him what you have now and how you want the pedal to feel and in what application and he will hook you up. If not oem, the newer aluminum mc that don't leak are nice...

If you pull an OE booster to put in an aftermarket POS your a fool..... I just went through is with a guy with more dollars than sense... He started having a hotrod shop rip out the old OE Bendix booster & install a new MP booster.... The car stopped terrible, they replaced the MP Booster three times... Then they sold him a Hydraboost system... It stopped ok but the pedal always felt weird, kinda like a HD truck... Finally I got talked into looking at it... Now it has a rebuilt OE Bendix booster, a new master cylinder & it stops like a new car.... So after spending $2700.00 he has what he started with...   

Get your stock booster overhauled, Sell Alan your stock MC core if it's the pt # he's searching for & put a new stock MC on the car... If your looking a Wilwood brakes or something like that you might need a different bore size on the MC but keep your stock booster....

I upgraded to this with no issues and the car stops like a dream, I have a pretty good cam and no hydraboost is needed. I get staying with OEM, so this is a good compromise.. http://www.doctordiff.com/bendix-style-dual-diaphragm-booster.html . If you are happy with the booster you have then stick with it...I also switched to silicone fluid so I have no worries of the fluid eating the paint if it leaks or when bleeding....

OK - so I looked at the bottom of the MC and it's Bendix # - 223085_?_7

I have my doubts about this being even for an E-Body.   I bet this was a B body part or something.   It's a Bendix so it's not a reproduction.

I used a Master Power Brakes booster master cylinder and proportioning valve on my 440 six pack Challenger with great results. Just make sure they send you the master cylinder that looks like a Chrysler unit NOT the GM looking one. I installed the set up ,bled the brakes and never touched it again!!!

It all depends on if you are wanting to stay with OE style or resto mod.  I used Booster Dewey to rebuild my Booster and bought an OE MC from theramman.com in Texas.  Couldn't be happier with the results. BUT, I was going for as close to OE as possible, not performance minded.

Again -  My M.C. looks to have no value outside of being from Bendix and somewhat period correct / and i don't suppose the brake booster is any good as booster dewey guys said it sounds F'd out.
So - Spend 385 or spend 135?     Car has P/S   P/B   Front disc and Rear Drum.   Cruise se-up.

Call Doctor Diff, get a aluminum mc and a double bendix booster, I love it.

Id personally go the Napa route with your car for a more OE correct look and to retain the value of your 71.  I am sure it will more than suit your needs and save you some coin.

I am running that pirate jack setup (MPM Booster setup) on my 69 Charger without any issues but the car originally came with 11inch power drums up front.  If you do go that route classic stocks those setups locally as well

I would just send Dewey your booster and get it rebuilt.

He is a class act guy and the booster I had him do came out perfect !
He did one for me on a Vette too.   perfect.
