Bolts to the bottom of your automatic transmission and supports the floor shift vertical shaft. :2cents:

twalker's sure looks like my spare and the one in my parts book. The next page over shows b-body and the studs tab the other way.

The one twalker has pictured is for a 71-74 E-Body the 70 E-Body is bent the other way because a 70 E uses a different vertical torque shaft and lower rod for the lock-out

That could be, I mostly have owned 70 model E bodies, my only running driving 71 was a 4 spd.. All the 72-74's I've owned were parts cars....     But FWIW C body linkage brackets also bend that way...
