Just completed a refresh on my Challenger
« on: June 28, 2015 - 07:20:18 AM »
My Challenger was kind of “restored” 10 years ago. Priorities were different at that time so the resto was more of a “slam it together, i wanna drive”.

Beginning this year it was time to go back and re-do the flaws so she is now repainted, new glass all around, new door panels, freshed-up moldings, subframe connectors added etc. As i had the engine out, i fulfilled an old dream by adding a mechanical roller cam.
First startup was yesterday so i havent really tested it yet.

Will do the hood black-out and i am chewing on the idea of a wing on the trunk. I added a wing on my GC and Barracudas just look awesome with it (probably due to their slimmer body lines).
IMO, Challengers looks slightly “massive” seen in a certain angle viewed from the rear (see last pic). Especially with a slight rake as my car have and i am afraid that a wing will add to it.
What do you think, wing or no wing?

I don't like the wing on a Challenger either.
Why put a tu-tu on a fat chick and draw attention.........

T/A spoiler looks pretty good though, slimming :)

:iagree:  Either no wing or T/A spoiler only.  This '71 vert was at Mecum Denver on Friday, and look at how this wing ruined it.

If you put a wing on it has to be car coloured. The above pic looks bad with the black wing on an orange and white car. I have a black wing on a black car and it looks great IMO.

Had to look up tu-tu... :roflsmiley: Good one...

I will skip the wing. T/A spoiler is nice but then goes the emblems on the trunk and i dont want that.
So i will do the hood black-out and thats it.

Thanks for the input, guys!

I would say that with the hood black out and a plain rear end......that's a no go....so I would do the go wing.  Just put on on my car and I like it.   On the iPad now so can't post a correct size pic but search for factory position of go wing.  See my pics.

Years ago before I decided In like cars without extra gaudy add ons I ran a T/A rear spoiler, I used the Challenger portion of the Challenger T/A reflectorized decal & had a sign shop cut me a R/T out of red reflectorized decal material... It turned out great & since it was custom made lots of guys would ask about it...

Hi Jerry

That turned out real nice  :2thumbs:  :bigshades:
Being in Thailand, I`d vote a superbird wing for it, just to make sure you will be noticed in the crowd...  but I guess it would be pretty hard to find such a wing there...  :dunno:

Hey... what`s in for an interior?   doesn`t appear to be completely factory...?   :swaying:

Looking good buddy  :cooldancing:   I vote No spoiler  :grinno:

Now were talkin!!! I could probably have a 10 feet tall super bird wing made here and why not paint it in the national color, pink?

My cloned car is far away from matching nos so i allow myself to play with colors. The interior is pretty much stock -72 but when i did the upholstery, i had the shop use black and red leather (center red, outer black).

Hows the cat?
