Glad you guys enjoyed the article.  Thankfully most of them are in the process of some sort of restoration by the owners crew.

I don't get it. There were only a few of these made.
It's like '57 chevy's. They only made a few of them, yet everyone and their brother seems to have one seems to have one.

How in the hell can these winged warriors keep poping up? THEY DIDN"T MAKE that many of them? Yet they keep popping up like they made a gazillion of them?
I just don't get it. What 137 of them were made? Good god, not if you look at all the old barn finds, coupled with the known ones out there. You would think they were a dime a dozen.
They are ALL over in old barn stories.
I actually saw one years ago on a gravel road, and wondered what the hell the guy was doing driving it on a gravel road, lol.
I remember seeing one when I was 9 or 10. In a small town. My family went out for pizza, and it was just cruising around. Town of maybe 400 people, at most. Never will forget it, lol.

You are mistaken....How many street Plymouth SuperBirds were produced and how many are still around?

Well, for the street cars, 1,920 (which includes 93 Hemis, 665 440-6V and 1,162 440-4V) is one of the correct answers, because that's what the NASCAR Serial Number List says. Of course, Chrysler Historical seems really fond of the number 1,935 (which includes 135 Hemis, 716 440-6V and 1,084 440-4V) so maybe to be safe we had better average the numbers and declare 1927.5 correct!

How many street Dodge Charger Daytonas were produced and how many are still around?

Well, that is an easy one! 503 were produced (which includes 70 Hemis and 433 440-4V). That's what Chrysler Historical says

To be fair a lot of these cars would have likely ended up in the crusher if this guy didn't buy them when they were worth nothing. Some of them are in awful condition, but at least they still exist.

If I had a warehouse full of those cars I'd have a hard time getting rid of them too haha at least this guy is sitting on a retirement worth of cars. I hope they all get saved.

Also I absolutely love Talladega's and he has a few big block examples in that garage

That's still an incredibly low number. I saw one when I was a kid, I saw one a few years back. Those are incredibly high odds out of the millions of people here in this country.

OK around 2000 were built. Still baffling to see them pop up all the time in "barn finds".  2000 out of 250 million people is a very small number. Almost nil.

For me to see two of them cruising around is equally a very small number. How many people here, in your life, can witness seeing one drive around. EVER? lol.

Not a car show - just cruising around. Yet, you always see some story about them popping up in distress in a barn somewhere. It's crazy.

Maybe it's like this.... I'm probably on the road with a few hundred Toyotas every day so over a lifetime maybe I encounter millions but remember ZERO.
I see one Daytona & never forget it... Odds I can't calculate... Or how about we have one president at a time, 10-so far in my lifetime yet in my little town I've seen three not trying to.

I guess I should just count my blessings. Something you don't see everyday.

MAN, it sure makes am impact and leaves some lasting memories, though! I saw that limelight green one from miles away, (on a train) lol. It was stopped at a RR crossing. The closer I got, the cooler it got. Then I finally figured out what it was -
once I got close enough. lol. I can't remember the color of the one I saw as a kid.

I just remember looking out the side and back window of my folks Galaxy 500 and seeing that outrageous wing, lol. And crazy nose. lol. It was wild. It was cool. Little town of maybe 100-200 people.
