Case in point a beautifully restored 70 383 Cuda went for 30k at Mecum the other day.  Understand it is not a 71, but come on...

Personally, I love this car - I have a thing for GA4

And with it being an automatic with AC and power windows my wife (who would probably want to drive it more than me) wouldn't have any room to gripe about it either

It would be a "win-win" for us ... except for the $50K+ it would take to get it and fix it up

That is basically what I told the owner. If the rest of the car was in the same shape as the paint job, $50k would work. I did a quick estimate with the Classic catalog on the major stuff and it is about $15K for the parts I would have to change/update. I looked at the seats again in my pictures I finally found and tend to think they are later than than the production date of the car. I have 3 other 71's and two are early production and one is after this car and they all have the separate seat button molding, while this one has the seat backs with the molded button slots incorporated.

The true answer is no matter what you pay and how much you put into the car, you will never in most cases get out of it what it costs you. The better answer is it's how much FUN and joy you get from it. For that there is NO price. Every time someone beeps at you, gives you a thumbs up, says nice things, those are those moments in time that you know THEY  would like to be driving it. The reason the seller wants to sell the car is that his wife hates the noise, the sound and has a distaste to drive in it. She'd rather have a fancy BENZ etc. And please all you woman Cuda and Challenger fans this is not meant as a dig, but most women don't get it...when it comes to these cars. They just don't.

That is it!!!! The wire seen hanging down below the steering wheel is cracked and has copper showing. The wire harnesses all need replaced, either spliced or cracked.  Not a numbers car and even wrong exhaust manifolds. The seats still have the buttons missing. What do you guys think it is worth now that there are better pictures of it. If you throw out some numbers, I may toss an offer just to see what happens. I am sure it is on consignment too.
