Hey All! I hope you guys are getting excited for next weekend!
I just wanted to give a quick run-down of events planned for the weekend, especially for the new folks joining us this year! We can't wait to meet you!
Thursday: A lot of us are arriving throughout the day. A lot of members booked rooms at the New Cumberland Quality Inn. You might find a few folks hanging out in the back parking lot of the hotel (when you enter the lot, drive around the right side of the hotel, and look for a remote lot, diagonally across from the pool in back of the hotel - usually past a few dumpsters. It's remote, but that's why we like it!) Not many people stay out late Thursday night. If you do though, you can bet we'll join ya!
Friday: Folks start arriving at the grounds pretty early. I used to aim for an 8am arrival, but the Viper-Baby makes that a bit tougher these days...
The tent is located in the e-body area - enter through the main gate (I believe it's Gate 3) and go straight through a four-way intersection, and look on the right, two rows back - that's usually where they put us.
EVERYONE IS WELCOME AT THE TENT!! Dave (4Cruizn) welcomes donations as he pays for this every year, but it's not mandatory, so don't think you can't hang out with us! People leave chairs, coolers, and all kinds of stuff, and there's always someone there so your stuff is safe. Friday night we will likely do another pizza party at the Quality Inn New Cumberland - it's usually around $5 per person and we order from somewhere local. Very casual, come and go as you please.
You don't have to stay at the hotel to join us for dinner! We usually stay out sorta late Friday night, and be prepared to laugh like you've never laughed before.
Saturday: We provide lunch on Saturday to ALL attending club members! No cost required! We'll start serving at
1:00 PM to give some folks time to return from pre-scheduled events. This year we're providing BBQ Pork tacos with coleslaw and a tomatillo dressing with cheese and other toppings, along with corn salsa! I am also bringing TWO homebrewed beers, to be revealed at lunch on Saturday! You're welcome to bring any sodas - that's usually one thing we don't have room to carry! DINNER on Saturday will be at DODGE CITY RESTAURANT in Harrisburg. Our reservation is for
8:00 PM - this gives folks time to go to their hotel, shower, change, hop in the pool, etc. before dinner. We have a private room reserved right next to the bar, and the past few years have been AWESOME. When you arrive at the restaurant, feel free to park on the WEST side of the restaurant (to the right as you face the building) - it's a big open lot that's usually reserved for the business on the other side, but they're closed on Saturdays and allow us to park there to keep the cars safer. (Dinner is pay your own way.) The food there is quite good...
EDIT: I almost forgot! My homebrew is free for all (of legal age) at lunch and at the hotel parking lot. But for anyone interested, I sell BOTTLES of my beer with a custom label each year for $3. If there's beer in them when you buy them, well I can't be held accountable...
Quantities are limited.
Sunday: Most people head home Sunday morning, but the tent is still available. Don't be surprised if you see non-member folks under the tent though - Sunday at Carlisle is usually a free-for-all.
I want to repeat this because we hear it a lot -
EVERYONE IS WELCOME AT THE C-C.C TENT!! If you're new, if you don't have a Cuda or Challenger (like some stupid Viper or something,) if you're flat broke and can't donate,
SHOW UP ANYWAYS!! Stay all day for all we care! Ash (Oh10Challenger) and I go to Carlisle for the PEOPLE! We've been going to this show for just under a decade - we've seen every car there at least a half-dozen times. We're there to see our friends and make new ones, so PLEASE don't feel shy/unwelcomed/uninvited!!!
That's it! And as your unofficial, totally self-proclaimed "Carlisle Events Coordinator," I can't wait to see you guys there.
