Just wondered what you guys think would be a good price to offer for this Challenger. The seller states that it is a strong runner, no leak issues to speak of, Vinyl top is in good condition, suspension, tranny and engine all in good condition as well. Anyway, any input regarding a value for this Challenger would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for looking and hopefully commenting.

Don't want you to feel like you are getting no love on this board, so I thought that I would pop in and show some support even though I could only guess as to what the Chally's market value may be.

"Rust free" Arizona car is a big plus. Nothing ads up faster than body work - especially if major panel replacement is needed. :crying:

I like it. I'd hit it if the price was reasonable. What are they asking for it??
Cheers!

Thanks for your reply, feel better, now, hahahahaha. I like it as well, kind of crazy, but I even like the luggage rack on it too. It's up for auction, don't know what the reserve is on it, they didn't except $17, 700 I know. Just wanted to get some ideas from people on here before I made an offer. Thanks again.

The market value of these cars is so subjective - you simply can't look the value up on KBB or Edmunds. I would say, probably the best thing to do is to surf the net and look for other 72-74 Challengers for sale in similar condition and see what they are asking for them and then formulate your bid or offer from there. :dunno:
Cheers!

I'll guess $22k is a fair number

By far I am no expert, but with the dash in the condition as seen, would be hard for me to consider anything over 18K. Like others have said, putting a hard number is difficult on these cars. On the plus side, like was already posted, the 340 does stabilize the price. Keep us up to date as this goes forward.

Thanks to all of you for your input, it's been greatly appreciated. It's given me some ideas on what to offer the owner of the Challenger.

It's really hard to judge from those photos (I'd like to see engine, underneath and trunk shots) and the market seems to be swinging up. Some clues from the photos though; gauges probably don't work (figure $1k), dashpad is done (figure $1k), seat upholstery is required (rears are probably dry too so you need both (figure $1k), paint looks dull from that trunk shot (maybe you can buff it and be happy). Generally the car looks loved but when something quit it wasn't addressed so I would expect a worn out front end and other problems.  I have to agree that it would have to be under $20k. I like the car though, I don't think the luggage rack was an option after 71?

I'd say $18k should be enough for that one. I really like it. Paint where I am is really expensive, maybe cheaper where you are. Great looking car that can be really brought along fairly easily.
