What do the fasteners/screws look like for the S/E tail panel , correct paint?

Thanks for the pictures.    Tough to tell from pictures I know but it looks like multi coloured flex in that paint?

Yes: I thought the sun would catch them but you don't really see them in the photos. The paint looks pretty close and it was easy to find at the local auto store. My shaker bubble paint really catches the sun too but I couldn't capture it with the camera either. It's a different paint but I think it matches the shaker/70 wheel centre paint.

I just took a few pictures with my cell phone. The existing paint on the tail panel matches my grill/headlight buckets perfectly, but the spray bombs are a little off. These pictures show the black fleck I was trying to explain.
Top of my headlight bezel. I cleaned it off some with acetone to get  45 years worth of road grime off.


with a flashlight  for a better picture?


spray out on scrap aluminum sheet metal.Light argent has a tint of green in it?

Well: I'm half blind in one eye and can't see out the other and my eye's are going buggy now. However to me it appears the paint does have black flecks in it. Actually more flecks than the old NOS 71 wheel centre does.

The black flecks are most clear at the bottom of the molding just above the polished line. Oh man everything's all blurry now! Time to go fiddle with some wiring! Gorgeous day here for mid October.

The paint I got from Roseville ( Dark argent) is very close but missing the black specs. So I thought heck I have the paint , might as well give it a try. I sprayed 3 light coats of the dark argent then held the can about 12-18" away and fogged it with black trim paint until it was close to what my grill/headlight bezels were. I'm happy/satisfied with the results.  Grill/headlight bezels are next....

I think I got one of those black flecks out of position.

Well I got it installed yesterday.  I used Geno #17-2619 from a local body shop supply . They look like the stock clips used on the rear quarter trim but bigger ( same 10-24 thread though)  I also filed both the lock and the S/E tail panel so I could used the lock to hold on the panel by mounting it on the outside. Looks great Brad, yeah I know it's not correct for the lock to be on the outside but it holds it really good along the bottom a good solution if your car did not come with the holes already there.

Looks good.... I have been trying to figure out the tail panel clip saga for a while. I spoke with Tom (R/T specialties ) @ Carlise about this. He stated "yeah, i dont have that clip kit available,,,,but i am going to put some more together"
I called him 3 times since Carlise,,,and get the same story each time, ,,I even asked him if he had something close that would work,,,not much success..

I have a WSS car ( so my tail panel was argent color ) but I am not keeping it stock,,,and ended up painting it black (organisol-ish)
I have an assortment of clips holding it on,,,,but do not have the small,,,lower clips for the bottom portion of the panel, my car is drilled out for the clips and panel.....

Man, I got to say that black looks awesome with the wheel lip moulding and wheels. I would love to see a full side view if you have one
