Solid State IVR

Anyone build there own solid state instrument voltage regulator from the old Allpar article?

If so, how did you mount it?

Did it work well?

I have all the parts to build one, just looking for any tips etc.

I built 2 of those and could never get the gauges to read right.
I gave up and went back to a factory part.
Others have apparently gotten it to work.

Well crap, that is not a good sign.

I have a working factory IVR, but I have heard so many stories about them failing and frying the gauges, I thought I would be proactive and build a new one.

What were your issues with the new style IVR??

No matter what I did, the gauges always read a little lower compared to the factory VR.
I even built an adjustable version, after changing resistors 3 times and getting close, I gave up.

Factory unit back in there and gauges read perfectly.
