Driving all day yesterday on the "roadkill across America" tour. Had the Pace Car vert, but had the top and windows up all day with the A/C on MAX. Went from Memphis to Tulsa. It was hot, but I was Cool.

You can absolutely see which classic cars have A/C going down the road. Their windows are up!!!

Ok, ya got me... I still look cool & feel even cooler going down the road....

Decided on mounting it on a plate welded to the top rear of the RF fender bracket where it bolts to the frame. Appears I have plenty of tire clearance, the unit is water proof, and well hidden. The drier and all the hoses will be inside the fender also. Heres some fab up pics.

Any updates on A/C installation? ?

In the initial test, half charged with R134 it worked well. I'm coming down to te end of the build o in the next 2 weeks I'll be testing everything on the car. I'll report then.

Thanks for the update!
I like it because I just hate the compressor top center on the engine. ....

I am also considering this route!  How is the performance of the AC so far?

I should state that I am interested in the performance of the AC in the varying conditions.  I presume since the electrical compressor may not perform to the technical specs of a regular belt driven compressor there might be a longer delay (and to which I would not be concerned).  Typically Minnesota summers are in the 80-90 degree range and it would be helpful to hear how it performs in your vehicle.

Have you also attempted to run the unit in 100 degree weather?
