« on: July 14, 2015 - 09:17:26 AM »
Hey does anyone remember these old style oil cans, you had to use a metal spout to puncture the top. I wonder how this oil compares to todays stuff?

I use all the old oil I find as long as it has a multi weight listed.  they work fine.

Single weight oil I don't use.  I keep it on the wall.

Yep, and it's still in my old tool box. I also remember when a case of oil was 24 quarts- NOT 12 and there was 40ozs in an Imperial quart. We used to set the empties upside down on a piece of 5" eavestrough that we'd blocked off and in a couple of days, we'd have a free one, for the old smoking P'sOS that we were driving then.

My mom, circa 81 or so, used to buy what she called "bulk oil" at the local texaco and the oil was hand pumped into a glass quart and then into the engine.....

Pretty damn cool my young mind thought
