found a TA broadcast sheet in my car
« on: July 15, 2015 - 11:03:47 AM »
was taking apart the seats in my challenger today and found a broadcast sheet inside drivers seat back. I got excited thinking it was for my car cause I dont have one but after looking at it I'm pretty sure its out of a 70 TA challenger. So now I'm wondering if theres anyway to look up the car to find the owner? I'm sure they might want it. VIN is JH23J0B282610

If you don't know, he's being sarcastic - send it to Barry at the Hamtramck Historical http://www.hamtramck-historical.com/index.shtml

reply from barry washington
"Hi Adam,
It is a new one to me. It is for a Panther Pink car as well, so that brings the new count for FM3 T/As to 84 known so far. It is also for a dealer demonstrator car.

If you would like to mail the sheet in, I can add it to the 'found' section at www.hamtramck-historical.com & if / when the car owner claims it I would let you know.

If you want to hang on to it, I will try to contact you if & when the car ever surfaces.

Thanks again for letting me know about it!

Barry Washington"

While Barry rides a high Horse about the legality of rebodies & sees it as black & white with no room for gray areas...  He also makes great efforts to help people in the hobby....

Galen makes great efforts to profit off anything he can so if your bank roll isn't big enough your gonna have to wait.... In my case it's been 14 years since I paid for services which I still haven't received..... In all honesty a few years back he did offer to supply what I was owed... Since he was called out on Moparts...... But at this point I have no further need & would rather just tell the world about his business practices... Of which there are plenty of other questionable dealings in his book of tricks....

I have only met Galen in person at the Portland Swap meet years ago and he seemed quite genuine. Have traded messages with Barry and he seems like a decent guy too! What I like about Barry is, he has most of his collection of car information and  listed for all to see, rather than keeping it in a lock box where only a handful may ever know what is in the collection. I may have missed something on Galen's collection, but if so, it is never tossed out there as much as the site Barry stores most of his info. Not sure about everyone, but I like transparency.

Are these broadcast sheets really worth something on eBay? What's the value if it doesn't go with your car?
