This Burnout did not end well

Cleaning out the garage today, found this old picture. 1979, I was 19, my first E-body, A few hrs later I had the 383 engine out and in parts, one of the rod bearings spun and screwed up the crank.

Sure looks like one to me! I used to trade my 340 Duster to my friend who had a '73 Z1 900 and that's the fastest bike I ever rode. 160mph indicated and it was still pulling! I ran out of steam before it did! LOL Great times, eh?  :cheers:

At least it's a burnout to be proud of even though it ended the 383.

That engine was gonna die whether you smoked them or not.... Rest in pieces.... Next.. :bigsmile:

That's how history is made... Do you still have that Barracuda? Is it a '70? I see things like the fog lights and black stripe that are different..

No, about a week later, after fixing the engine, I traded it at a car dealership for a 70 Challenger Convertible, had that Challenger for 15 years.
It was a Cuda, BS23N0. It was painted white with the stripe when I got it.


That 383 was running great, it only had a 2-barrel carb! I was pretty sucessful in some illegal street races with that one. I beat some cars with tunnelram and dual Holleys even, they were not happy when I opened my hood and showed a 383 with a 2-barrel  :grinno:
