OK, now I'm pi$$ed, American Powertrain.
« on: July 16, 2015 - 05:37:16 PM »
Looks like we (me and Jim) have another Keisler on our hands. When we purchased the new 5 speed to go behind the Hemi Jim liked American Powertrains hydraulic clutch kit, so we called them and ordered over the phone. Parts come in, there wrong. I call and talk to Tony, we go thru the dance, he says the guy we ordered from was new, made a mistake. Will e mail an ra, send correct parts. Well, weeks go by, nothing. So I call, try to get Tony on the phone. On hold 30 minutes, no response. So I E mail all info, Jim gets a call before Carlisle. Were sending you an ra via e mail, exchanging parts. THen nothing  :stomp: So I called yesterday, asked for Tony, well he's on another line, can you hold. Sure, 20 minutes later she comes back he's still busy, can I have him call you. Sure give her name, # and still no call.    :pullinghair:  What the he!! is it with these transmission people  . Sorry, rant over.  Going on a bashing spree on FB next.

Like Katfish said, if you pd by cc, then dispute it and get your dough back.  Why go thru all the hassle.  Unless you pd by other means that have no recourse.  Then you are at the mercy of a bad company.

In general I have noticed all smaller online automotive companies are quite terrible in many aspects of their business. Customer service, in stock items, shipping and handling times etc... I am a buyer for an online drop-ship company by profession, and we would have been out of business years ago if we acted like any other these companies. Most the time the actual owners are good guys if you talk with them, there just ins't a ton of competition for the specialized products that they sell. Why would they care if they totally screw you over? They know they'll still get your business. I have had great experiences with Jegs, Summit, and Rock Auto. I have had bad experiences with TTI and Dr. Diff.

Seems like everyone has a different experience too. Of course, as a company, even with the best service there might be a couple here and there that aren't satisfied.

I for one have had great service from cass at Dr. Diff.

Companies like kiesler though... Nothing but bad online

Thanks for the input guys. As of this afternnon still no call from American Powertrain.  We got the Dana from Cass @ Dr Diff, could not be happier, great guy to deal with, never a problem when I called with stupid questions. As for Keisler, glad they are gone.  :sadwavey:   Time to do the credit card mojo on American Powertrain Jim.   :hyper: :banghead: :stomp:

I haven't seen many problems that are actually from Tremec. The vendor perhaps, but not Tremec. So far my pallet full of SST parts seems to be on point.

Reading this thread makes me grateful for the folks at Roseville.   I have probably placed an order with them about every month the past year - never a problem.

Seems I've read so many threads of this type of customer service. And not just on C-C. How the he!! can these guys stay in business? Its not the 60's or 70's or even 80's where you can have that "take it or leave it" attitude. Granted every company screws up here or there - mine included, but jeeeeeezzzzzzz isn't your reputation worth something.? Rarely is anybody the only game in tow anymore, the internet has proven that many times over. For every guy that *****es, there's 10 more pissed off that didn't bother. This will come and bite you in the azz eventually......  :banghead:

Not to mention the shifting problems with Tremecs & they always seem to sit too low & the rear messing with the driveline angle
