Shocks to use with Super Stock Springs
« on: July 16, 2015 - 07:46:59 PM »
Hey Guys, I need longer shocks for an e Body due to SS springs.  When I check Rock Auto it seems that the C body shocks that were suggested are the same part number as the e body shocks.  Any idea on which shocks will work?
Thanks

I always measure compressed and extended lengths and just call around until I get numbers from the seller  :2cents:

:iagree:   QA1 wanted these measurements before they would suggest a part # . Mine is lower than stock so the stock part # wouldn't work.

This is going to sound funny but I encountered the same issue a few years ago and discovered that shocks from a mid 70's truck worked perfectly.  I got them from my local Napa store.  Good luck.

Thanks Tony, I saw those, but they said A-Body so I moved on...I could not find any length specifications either.  I think the truck shocks will work, plus they are old school yellow

They worked but those springs are pretty dang stiff so it may just be me not being a drag race guy but I certainly did not like the ride at all with them.

I mean the few times I took it to the drag strip it did great with ****ty tires but it's just not the way I like to ride.

Also if you want to go on the cheap route you can just buy some two or so inch shock extensions ....my dad used those before he put the shocks on.
