What's the Sunday scene like at the Nats?   I've been to Carlisle on a Sunday and I could walk their fairgrounds in half a day.

Dead. I go home Sunday morning, sometime Saturday night after the cruise if I don't want to drive in the heat, or busy highway construction traffic on Hwy 70.

The swap meet is pretty dead on Sunday.  If you want to see some drag racing it isn't too bad.  Eliminations are on Sunday.

We are meeting at Stacy's Homestyle Buffet for dinner at 6:pm before the Saturday cruise. Stacy's is in Heath across from the Lowes. Go down 79 into Heath, turn left at the light when you see Tim Horton's Restaurant, go down a block and Stacey's is in the back parking lot. Go in the door turn left at register. We try to get the 1st room, but had to get the 2nd room last year.

Decided to go on Friday and haul some AMD sheetmetal home for a future build.  While watching the Dodge thrill ride,  the driver of a Dodge Viper locked up the brakes and slid the car into the fence.  Oops.

Watched them tearing ass up and down the big hill at Carlisle too. Would have loved to see one of them wreck!

Hope it wasn't the female driver, she was awesome.

I saw a female driver in the other Viper, but not sure who was driving the other blue Viper that slid into the fence.  The passenger was ok.  He got out an got applause from the crowd.   They brought out another Viper and proceeded to run the cones.

Just back home from vacationing in the US.
Last stop was the Nats. My third visit there and i love it! Friday spent at the swap meet (hot this year..), Saturday with the car show and manufacturers midway, Sunday a laid-back day watching the drag racing.
Never been to Carlisle so i cannot compare but i feel what i love about the Nats is that the dragracing is present whatever you do or see (at least the sound of it).

Shelbydogg, this must be your ride? Sweet!!!

I was very disappointed with the NATS this year. They moved everything to heath a few years back which has killed the nats. Cops everywhere, I bet I didn't see 5 burnouts outside the show. I heard they were wild at oreillys one night, but I don't know where orielly is located. Seems like they are really liberalizing the Nats.

I disagree.  Although I Had fun with the burning out in the eighties on Brice Rd, the NATS is not ruined by the lack of it. There is a track for actual drag racing ALL weekend. There is even a burnout contest for those who wish to partake. It is a great weekend for our hobby. Where else can you spend the weekend racing, looking at some fine mopars, cruising at night, where every motel is another show, finding parts and talking with some of the people we all do business with and the best part meeting some great people. It is a slight disappointment, and I am as far away from a politically correct person as you can get but let's face it, if you were in charge of that town and you saw idiot people with babies in strollers hanging out right in the street, you would probably take action as well.
