1970 Challenger TA hood - SOLD
« on: July 21, 2015 - 08:15:44 PM »
Fiberglass - old school.
Part of a barn find , banged up a bit, missing a chunk from one corner.
Good condition overall if I had a muscle car, I'd find a way to fix it, but I dont.
Asking $400 or best offer because this could be an original, I don't know though. See photos, more can be emailed. Any questions, please ask. Hood is in Albany NY.

I would be interested, I also am in N.Y. but not for your asking price, this hood needs ALOT of work.  You should post more pictures , especially of the damaged areas, also it seems like there is some damage near the scoop.

The price is negotiable and the scoop is absolutely perfect, no damage to it. I will try to post more pics but emailing them would be easier and they would have higher resolution. Thanks.

You can email more pictures, close ups showing more detail,  my email address is in my profile.  Also would this work with the hinges or is this a lift off hood?

The hood has integral metal braces and bolt holes where you could attach hinges. That's the beauty of it. It also has holes for the windshield washer squirrels, but they are MIA. I don't know if you will be able to attach hinges. Depends on your skill or your luck. Inside the bolt holes looks a little rusty. I don't see your email address. Sorry

Price drop $300. Get it before it's gone.

I will take 225. Local guy offered me 200 but that is a lowball offer. I already sold him other stuff cheap. Just trying to spread the wealth.

I might be up near you soon, I have to use my vacation time up before Sept. Do you have more stuff for 1970 challengers?  I don't want to sound like a @ss, I think you should take the $200  it maybe your best offer.  Repairing the corner of the hood is a serious and costly repair, there is no structure reinforcement to hold the "new" fiber glass repair.  That's the only damage on the hood I can see in the pictures.

@ borrow. - yeah boxes of parts but I'll let the local guy have them dirt cheap. This msg board seemed like a good idea to reach a wider market but all I get here is the run around.

No, you got an honest assessment of the hoods value... You think it might be a gold mine cause it could be an original T/A hood, well is looks like it is an original T/A hood... but it's broken, big time broken, you don't have the piece thats broken off... So the repair is a job for a guy with good fiberglassing skills, if you were that guy & could do the repair you could sell the hood for more money... But since your not, it'll sell cheap or it won't sell at all......

Price seems fair to me. If it was near me I would have already bought it, I wouldn't be scared of that fix.
