Thanks for the kind welcome from most.  I saw a couple of cars GYC did, one was a A body convertible and was really nice and the other was a Daytona that was a power tour car which didn't seem to have any issues.  I talked to Mark several times and I thought the whole experience with the car being on the show and the family flying out to be on the reveal would be pretty cool.  I have built several hot rods in the past but none of them were Mopars or numbers matching limited production specialty cars.  The research and documentation that they do impressed me as I wanted this to be correct from a collectability stand point.  The Cuda is my prom queen trophy wife and my big block Nova is the freaky mistress I have my fun with

Thanks EB3..I herd that shop was really good from some friends but I have already shipped the car to GYC.  I have a friend that has a A body that they restored and he was very pleased with the job they did.  The whole package with the car being on the show and going out to see it, the family was really into it.  It should be really fun and we are looking forward to the whole experience.  I was kinda wanting to do some of the work myself but I have no experience with Mopars and restoration to original, just building hot rods and I wanted to do this one correct.

Out of curiosity....What time frame will they be turning it out in ? Does the network pay for the restoration or at least some of it ?

I'm sure there is a contract that includes a non-disclosure clause so you will be limited as to what you can share, but please share as much as you can!

the car will be there for around 24 months as they would like to use it for a couple of seasons.  It takes a little longer as they have to work around the production crew. It's not really "all original" it's got the wrong seats, steering wheel etc...

Thank you for pointing out all the things "Not original"...Good eye...in typical fashion the original interior degraded away and he changed out the items with a 71 that he had but he saved all the original parts so they can be reconditioned.  The original owner saved almost everything right down to the AM radio,window sticker and original bill of sale...also got a truck load of parts with it...2 440hp blocks date code 67 and 69, 426 max wedge block date code 64 and stage 3 crank, 71 challenger dash pad 71 rally wheels extra 6 pack air cleaner and set of carbs 8 3/4 side clutch center section...ect.ect.he had been a mopar mechanic since the early 60s and collected all of this stuff over the years...the 426 crank is still in the original cosmolyene....all cool stuff
