Wow posting this stuff only adds to the confusion which is completely lame.

Two ballast resistors and a powerbar, plenty of better examples out there.

Jeesh!

Pardon me, I just looked through this thread & I didn't see a single post where you offered any help what so ever, never mind technical help.... Did you link a better schematic? No?? I didn't think so! If you can't bring something useful to the thread then SHUT THE HELL UP...

Still no spark.

Hope to get a chance to work on it this weekend.

Sounds like your first hurdle to get over is to get the correct voltage to your ballast resistor while key on and start.

So check the battery cables for corrosion (i.e. resistance) and everything in between. If your ECU/Coil is known to be good you should get spark, especially if you jump it from the coil to the battery.

Want some evidence?

Makes perfect sense now. Or you could just slink back over to mofarts.

And I'd say it's pretty obvious who the troll is..

So I pushed the reset button that is on top of the interlock module and it made a definite reseting type noise inside itself.

Tried again and no start.

Despite it making reset noise, this could still be the culprit. There is one of the tabs in the socket of the interlock that you can ground to completely bypass the interlock and take it out of the equation. I'll see if I have it in my notes and post it tonight.

Those two brown wires on the lower position of the relay...that position on my  '74 has been wired direct to ground. I thought the interlock was grounded directly but it isn't. I believe one of those brown wires does go to the interlock and the other goes to the transmission neuteral safety switch.

If you have a tach in this car and a wire going to the coil's negative post. Try cranking with it disconnected.

replaced the coil
Removed the condenser? from the positive side coil

replaced the pick up coil on distributor

hard wired the coil to battery
Have spark at plugs

Engine won't start for the life of me.
cranks and cranks.

Ran for 1 second would not repeat

took left side bank of plugs out as I figured flooding.  Not too bad.

Car wanted to start with half the plugs removed.   Didn't start it though.

Any thoughts? ?
