Awesome.  Thanks.  I'm hoping to keep pace with you with paint by Christmas.  I have all major systems ready except for interior.

Thanks. She's not perfect but she's mine ...

Yep  I'd rather spend my money with member , instead of buying some part made in a hut in China ..

Just read this whole thread. Great job👍

Question on your paint? What brand and did you make a booth in your garage? I couldn't really tell your setup. Paint looks great!

Thanks, Wes

So I'm still waiting for my upholster to get me in and install the top and headLiner Grrrrr!

Well progress must move on..

I got the  grill and all the front plastics refinished , headlight buckets rebuild , front nose fully assembled and new trim rings installed, wiper motor and all the linkage installed and tested.

Redid the woodgrain on door panel and console inserts (performance car graphics is awesome btw)

Hashed out a few small gremlins with the American auto wire harness for the 3 speed motor..
I'm going to post my findings on that issue so others can Benefit from my frustration.

I got the nose of the car fully assembled.  Lights wiring all check out, I had to rewire the front turn signals housings  ,43 yr old wire wasn't cooperating

Got my shifter handle from Quapman. ,  and my whole new interior from famous Dave from Rossville... I won't buy from anyone else unless he can't get the part.  First class operation!

Still have to start thinking about that motor thingy......

Some pics:

I am about to tackle my grill... Anything special you did with it as far as sanding and priming?

Well my grill was in very good shape . So was able to......

-  give it  a bath in hot water and dawn ( regular dawn , special dawn has oils in it ..)

- knock down any flaking paint with 400 grit

-  give it another bath in dawn

- scrubbed the grill with sem        And a grey scotchbrite

- use sem paint prep 38353

-use sem adhesion promoter 39863

- use sem  landau black 15013

- 3 days later masked off the grill so just the leading edge that needs to be silver showed

- lightly 4 coats of rust oleum aluminum metalliic shiny one not dull aluminum spray paint .

- the emblem i scrubbed with 0000 steal wool and lacquer thinner  ,   And by a tip I got from burdars thread ,  coat the chrome letters with Vaseline .  Paint light coats of black ..Once the paint is dry remove the Vaseline  came out awesome thanks burdar !

Remeber light coats , proper  material and room temp , and follow times sem gives you for flash times between products.
