Are you leaving the 73 emissions components like charcoal cannister, osac valve, etc.?

Keeping the charcoal canister for tank venting , if i cant figure sumthing elso out ,   Everything else is  being deleted.

What did you use to polish the lense? It looks really good.

I took it off without touching it,  then i washed it in dawn, dried it , then used 3m  ultrafine machine polish  i applied and removed it with a microfiber cloth.  Repeat repeat repeat .   It came out nice but not perfect.

Good enough for a 73 driver

This is what i used:

I removed the one on mine and rerouted the hard line out of sight. The hard line is not one piece all the way from front to rear. Down by the passenger front frame rail there is a rubber line connecting front and rear. Bent up a new piece that goes into the front wheelwell. The top of line has a 180 bend so the opening points downward to keep the water out. I then added an inline gas filter to keep the debris out. So far I have not noticed any fume smells over what I already get from the carb when it sits.
Could take a pic if you are interested.

Can you plug the vent lines and run a vented gas cap and call it a day? I've read other car forums that have suggested doing that?

I have all of the original parts  for venting  the tank , so I havent looked into the  vented cap option .

That is an idea..

Im also looking into  venting it like  a 72 , with the vent line from the filler neck tubr with the loop in the trunk and out to the framerail

Thanks guys!    Yeah I have way too much time in this dash and $$$$$ but it came out nice.

I doubt I'll be ready for this year but next spring I'll be all good ,  i still have a lot of work ahead of me .

and yes I'm going for a slightly modified original look , nothing wild .

these were nice looking cars originally , why mess with it ........

Your dash looks great. :2thumbs:  I also had my pad recently done by Dash Pros,  Came out very nice.  I agree about the time and $ spent on the dash!  :pullinghair:  I lost count of how many hours I put into polishing the rallye gauge lens.  Mine is in about the same state as yours now.  I'm waiting for my radio to be restored (another 2-3 weeks) and then I can install in dash and install dash in car.

Looks great! What "led capable dimmer" did you get and why wouldn't an original switch work?
