They look pretty good to me considering most of my driving is short trips and I live in a 25 MPH neighborhood.
Idles good, has good throttle response, slight flat spot or hesitation when stomping on it from idle. AFR reads 12.5-13.5 average at cruise under load. Higher at WOT (13-14 momentary 15 right when you stab it) and lower when on the idle circuit 11.5-12.5...
I'm sure there is some tweaking that could be done but I wonder if it is just fine as is and just keep an eye that it doesn't get any worse.
Maybe hit the freeway for a nice long cruise and then check them again.

Little hard to tell due to the lighting, but I don't believe they look bad.   Most likely slow driving, stop and go might darken them up a little.  Hit the highway and see whats up.   I didnt see that you mentioned it was running bad?

Who's plugs are they ? Part #'s?  I ask as I'm just in the middle of replacing mine due to fouling.  I used NGK R5671A-7 in Mopar stage 6 heads.

Runs fine. I'll hit the freeway for a cruise and see if it burns the carbon off.

Champion RC12YC

Thanks!  What heads are you using?
I'll be darned that the same plug I keep in stock for Briggs lawn tractors and snowblower engines. :pullinghair: As compared to the
NGK R5671A-7 I just removed the Champion plug electrode sticks out much more than the NGK.   I wonder if that would keep the carbon cleaned off/burned off better than the NGK? No one in town stocks the NGK's I use so I'm waiting till tomorrow for them to arrive. ::)

Hey Randy

Looks like you are running a bit rich but better rich than too lean.

What is the gapping on those plugs? .35, .40??? it is somewhat dependent on the plug and the ignition system.

I believe mine says (MSD) to gap them between .40 - .45 but don't quote me.

Most of the time we drive our rides local and do not get the engines fully up to temp and do a lot of stop & go.
Need to get out on the highway for a long ride......Use only Champion COPPER plugs.
the # 2 plug looks worn or pic is fuzzy.
Check distributor cab inside.

   Well, I guess we will never know how it turned out......

Went camping for a week and just got back to my lonely laptop...

Brad, The heads are Edelbrock performer.
Bryan, the gaps are .042
Docmel, I think the pic is just a little fuzzy but I will check the cap and rotor.

If it the weather holds, I'll get it out on the freeway and check the new champs tomorrow.  :burnout:

No windshield time yet... But in a few hours I'll hit the road for about a 70 mile trip south to the All Mopar Sunbust Show at Frontier Park in Graham WA.
It's the 30th year for the Sunbust show that is put on by the Tacoma WA chapter of Mopars Unlimited.
Spark plug socket and ratchet are in my tool box.  :2thumbs:
