As Cody always points out, it's the things you cannot see.

Rust in frame rails, floor pans, trunk pan, everywhere!

You never know till you tear it apart what you are in for.

10k is not stealing it, rather is insurance for not going overboard on investment vs return when you want to sell it.

:aussie:I agree Bryan, I actually had a nice talk with Cody about this car, I really feel confident that I can buy this car for a solid price that's fair, the car belongs to a good friend of mine's dad, so I definitely don't need to steal the car, I want a fair deal for both of us

Hey Scott, I don't think I seen it mentioned here, but surely the seller has mentioned his price - what's he asking for it?
Cheers!

No price mentioned, that's why I wanted everyone's opinion before I made an offer.  I had told his daughter if he ever decided to sell id be interested.  And then he contacted me and asked me to come look at it.

Oh? That makes it tougher. He's got a "number", he's just not saying it as you never want to be the first one to mention a "number." It doesn't matter if it is a new car, a used car, or anything else for that matter. You're doing the right thing in trying to get an informed opinion as to what it may actually be worth. Then comes the hard part where you are going to have to contain your emotion, put on your best poker-face and try and negotiate an acceptable deal. We'll be rooting for you! Good luck!
