Do I need to pull the headers to install a steering gearbox?
« on: August 08, 2015 - 08:30:53 PM »
The original gearbox was already pulled. Got the new headers in and just realized something...
Will I need to pull them back out in order to get the new gear box back in?  :clueless:

It's a small block with Dougs headers-

I'm doing that right now. My new Firm Feel box is on it's way so I thought I'd get a head start. I have TTi headers. I had to unbolt the header and take the Z-bar off so I could move the header as far back toward the firewall as I could. Then I had to take the battery and try off, loosen the power steering pump and rotate it down. Take the left motor mount bolt off and jack the motor up. The only way I could twist and turn the steering box out.
