Author Topic: 71 Challenger Driver Side Upper Cowl/Inner Fender to Firewall Joint  (Read 868 times)

Hoping to get some pictures and information on this section.

The drivers side of the cowl has a crack in it and what appears to be a dent, in an area that from what I can tell is supposed to me flat.

Also, I have a "good" gap between the drivers side inner fender and the piece that lays on top of the cowl/firewall.

The pass side is closer/touching.

Is a gap supposed to be present, or should those two pieces be welded/joined solidly?

:iagree:  Yep. If the "gap" you're referring to is that between the inr fndr apron and the firewall, yes, it should be there. There is a narrow metal filler that covers it and welds on. Mines a 74, but it's on the rotisserie and I can take photos of the areas you're asking about once we know exactly where they are.  :cheers:
