prw stainless rocker arms
« on: August 12, 2015 - 07:36:59 AM »
About to pull the trigger on a set of prw stainless rocker arms for my 512 build, part #3244011. Searching around for the best price and it seems like amazon has it but found the review below:

"Sept. 2013 - not what I expected, had to send this item back, most of the rockers we're good but some of them had pitts in the metal which would cause them to fail under load and high rpm, I've since bought a second set, same problem going to contact PRW today, and see if they will replace the ones that are bad.thanks"

Anyone experience this same issue? This is the first I'm reading anything like this..if an issue does arise, how is PRW to deal with?

Mine have some surface imperfections, not"pits".  They are not sharp edged nicks or anything.  Just slight depressions in the surface.

Have you been running them without issues?

I am looking at purchasing a set of the stainless 1.6 PRW's for my 340. Brian at IMM sells them and he uses the PRW, Hughes, and the T&D's. If Brian suggests them, then I am not going to worry about them!

I like them because of the stainless steel construction and they are bronze bushed!

 Note:
I have heard of quality issues in the past so I contacted Brian at IMM. He told me that he had never had any issues with the PRW rockers that he sold. It appears that Brian contacted his PRW sales rep and was able to get an answer on an issue just last year. Nice job Brian!

The early ones weren't bushed & had serious issues with galling/seizing on the shafts... They've been bushed since around 2004-2005 & have been pretty trouble free since..

Personally I'd still rather have a set of Isky ductile iron rockers... I seen roller axle pins break letting tiny roller bearing needles loose in the oil.. Unless your running a seriously big cam Ductile Iron Rockers are fine... :2cents:

Good to hear, do you use the 1.5 stainless sets?

Update for anyone interested..just ordered my set today from Jegs. Part #3244011 got them to price match pace performance for a total of $360 shipped to my door. Best deal I could find by a bunch. Figure it might help someone else out
