I'm thinking of replacing the reproduction one I bought. It's wavy at the curves like Stroganoff noodles. Have a picture of the one installed from Roseville?
If your using Vintage Air unit, the cowl opening on the right side coming into the heater or factory A/C box gets blocked off, like ours. Were not going to use the seal, more heat out of engine bay. Just a thought.
That's the purpose of the hood/cowl seal, to keep out hot engine bay air out of cool air inlets. I got this one. Made in US is something I like. This one fit great on my Cuda. Definitely get one with clips installed. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mopar-NEW-1970-71-72-73-74-E-Body-Barracuda-Cuda-Challenger-Hood-to-Cowl-Seal-/221820107822?fits=Year%3A1970%7CModel%3ACuda&hash=item33a5823c2e&vxp=mtr
ThanksIs this a foamy type or an actual rubber type?
I don't have air conditioning. I'm getting hot air out of the drivers side vent while the passenger side is cool air. From looking at the seal, I strongly suspect its whats wrong.
Yea, even with a good cowl/hood seal you will get some hot air. I'm contemplating fabing up some aluminum plates to completely block any air/ water to enter the cowl. They will be fashioned to fit under the screens, painted black to match the cowl. It will keep hot engine air from heating up the lower cowl inside the car.
