From modeling clay, make some spikes a little longer than you think clearance is. Place them on the carbs, gently close the hood, and see which are crushed and how much. You may have to use the edelbrock triangular units. I have 528 hemi, Stage V intake (2x4 inline) which was milled 1/2inch, in a 71 Barracuda with Rallye hood. I have Schuamacher mounts which raise the engine 1/2inch over stock. And the drop base plate from FHO. I have 1/2 hood clearance at the tightest.
