You guys are not subjected to tax taking the cars "back into the States" where they were manufactured. :2cents:

Cool, I'm not familiar with the laws, no need, I go north for work & pleasure not car collecting..  Does the US tax cars on the way in?

Don't hold me to this, but believe  the only taxes are the local sales tax and license/inspection fees.  :2cents: :dunno:

I just got back from a local car show. Great day over 700 cars, lots of Mopars too!  :2thumbs:

Talked to a buddy that went and he said both verts were hardtops cut up. The one with the Hemi went for 29K he said? So you didn't miss much. He said the best deal he thought was 2 rally gauge clusters that went for $350

Just saw the post, too late. I wish I had the money for that 71vert. I guess you have to have the cash and be at the right place at the right time. Still a good deal at 29 K.

29K for a Hardtop with the roof cut off doesn't sound like a good deal to me....  :2cents:

I would have bought that is a heartbeat. 71 cuda convertible , even if it was a hard top, had a shaker hood ,Gilled fenders and hemi. I can't afford 85 grand US$. I would have been real happy with that. If there is anything like that in the future let us know. Thanks George.

Didn't take long for the new owners of the two convertibles to reach out to me.
The business partners that bought both convertibles are Ford guys, they know nothing about Mopars, their values or their cost to restore them.
They came to my shop today and I was explaining shakers to them and their cost, explaining what value their potential cars have etc...

Sounds like both cars wear convertible VINS but have been clearly converted from hardtops. The one with a Hemi has a 1966 vintage block which they plan to sell.

Both cars are going to be built with modest "resto-mod" upgrades. These guys own dozens of cool Fords and plan on keeping these convertibles.

Seemed like nice fokes
