My convertible is a non R/T N code that is burnt orange with burnt orange interior.  When I first was thinking of buying it, I was a little turned off by the color, but it really grew on me after buying it.  Best money I ever spent!
4 gear is really cool on a JH car.  My car has an automatic, so the engine is Chrysler blue.  4 gears got an orange engine.

Beautiful car! it is a cool color. A convertible like yours is on my must have list.

Just got to finish up the car I'm doing for my wife, then it's Challenger time full speed ahead.

Are you basing that on subbing out the work or DIY?
Quite a difference in cost between those.

If you DIY, then costs are lowered quite a bit lower.

The deal is done. No sense looking back and just move forward and enjoy your new addition. Best of luck with it. Although there is truth to the color not being eye popping there are plenty of cars with the more subtle colors that draw a ton of attention because they are different. Let's face it how many red,plum,lime green cars do you see at shows or cruises-a ton of them. Sometimes something different is a delight to the eyes.

I did buy it for that. I couldn't get him down but he included a few things that made the deal better.

Originally, I started this post seeking input on buying it for a flip and I think Aniauto and the others are right that it's a bit high and not quite the best color for flipping. Now that I've seen the car, I really like it. I could see keeping it and trying to do all the work myself. I just painted my wife's car and it came out really nice so I think I can do it if I set my mind to it.

My thought right now is to get it home and thoroughly assess it. I will probably put it on eBay just to see if there really was flipping potential there. If it doesn't meet my reserve, I'll keep it and start doing the sheet metal work myself.

If I do keep it, this one can be my sleeper and when I do the RT, it can be the eye candy.

I'm not too bothered about the price actually. its hard to set a value on this car since there are no other original 1970 big block four speed cars to compare it to which are currently for sale. They only made 450 or so non RT cars with big block/4 speeds so if you want one, you really have to look at RTs which command more money for the S in the VIN. I will never own another automatic so I'm limited on buying options.

How old are you?  Cause you opinion on that could change.. I've got a few friends that had all 4 spd cars, would never own a muscle car with an automatic... Why would you?... Then they actually started taking long drives where looking cool wasn't as important as enjoying the ride..  As you get older that heavy muscle car clutch can get old after a few hours... Stretch it out to 7-8 hours behind the wheel with lots of mountain/coastal roads where your constantly shifting & suddenly at the end of the day your feeling beat up while your buddy with that automatic still feels pretty good... But then most guys just wax their cars & park them so people can look... If thats your MO then yeah you need a 4spd.... :rofl:

You could be right about that as I get older. I'm only 46 now. I had a 70 Superbee with an auto for 23 years. It was a fabulous car, got lots of attention, and it cruised so nice I could have driven cross country in it. Problem was I found it boring. The thing practically drove itself. Don't get me wrong, I like comfort and I want the car to be enjoyable when I drive it but I also want to feel more connected to it when I drive.

The 4 speed is a big deal IMO. Both of my Challengers are 4 speeds and I'm 59.
