I am not sure if I will weld the stubby pipe to the muffler or not, we will see how it all plays out.

I was able to come up with a plan that I am happy with and that clears everything. I need to decide whether or not to weld the tips on or go with a clamp. I still have to make a tailpipe hanger which I am going to try and make using parts off the resonators I removed from my 10 Challenger. I need to find some isolators (the rubber parts) however it seems that Mopar uses fatter rods (that the rubber slips over) than most so the local parts store rubber isolators don't seen to fit. I can order some online, just have to make up my mind.

Ive finally got one tailpipe down. It took far longer than it should have but in between domestic tasks and a recent "help my friend" request from my wife to try and fix an 01 Ford Escape (still trying to get the passive anti theft off on it..) I did get a lot of time to work on it.

Anyway, its done. I wanted to make a more modern hanger assembly like the Magnaflow comes with, but unfortunately it only comes with one so I needed something for the tailpipes. I have 2 sets of modern Challenger resonators (2 off my car and 2 off a friends) so I salvages some hanger material from them.

I also made the tailpipe hanger adjustable for height to allow me to fine tune the tailpipes; probably overkill but oh well. I am very pleased with the one, now I just have to make the other one....

Sweet. That looks good.  It appears that you are using the bump stop location to secure the hanger?  The adjustment is not overkill.  I had to put in spacers in the stock hanger through floor design to get the proper spacing from the top of the valance.  I had also installed bracing for the rear valance to spread it and lower it off the bottom of the tips that began rubbing on one side after the shakedown runs.

Thanks, I am using the stock tie down holes. Just got the drivers side pipe made and pretty much installed. I need to make the hanger for that side and it will be pretty much done. Then I either go on to bleed the brakes and clutch or try and start it...

Yes it is. I got the exhaust wrapped up, I need to get the rear shocks back in and I can move on.

Very nice.  BTW - I see that you use blue painter's tape.  Have used notice any issues with it?  I've used it as well to protect the body paint.  I had used it on my dash and it lifted some of the coating.  I've switched to a green very light adhesive painters tape.

I dont use the blue tape on anything spray painted for sure. It works on body work pretty well, however like you I use the green tape.

Well I tried to bleed the brakes which turned into an issue. I couldn't get any fluid to the rear brakes and determined that the proportioning/metering/distribution valve was causing me some pain. So I removed it, disassembled it (had to use some heat) and cleaned it up. I also removed my adjustable proportioning valve and checked it as well. Now I have to put it all back together and try again.

I have a Motion Products power bleeder, for flat top master cylinders (like Mopar) adapter, however due to my clutch reservoir is in the way, so I have attempted to make a Mopar specific power bleeder adapter... pretty much redneck engineering but we will see how it works soon.

Ahh, always something.  I wish I was nearby to help with the old school two person bleeding approach for you. Good Luck.

Well my "invention" didn't work out all that well. That said, I am using a vacuum system to draw the fluid through the lines. I got that done but have had a pile of leaks  :pullinghair: This thing is sucking the soul out of me... I "think" I have most of them sealed up but there is one or 2 that are giving me issues.

I still need to bleed the clutch, then wrap the slave cylinder as it is about 2" above the collector and I am concerned the header is going to cook the seals out of it.

Ive determined that the proportioning/metering valve is bad in that it leaks. Since no one repops them and the brass ones are reportedly crap, I am going to have to figure something out.

I have done a pile of research and decided to go with a new valve. This one is specifically for a disc/disc application and appears to be well built. We will see how it goes.

Good luck with the valve. Fingers crossed.
