It's not my favorite look. I think some of the best parts of a classic car come from the trim and "pop". Today's cars lack it. :2cents:

I understand, however I am going to have the front and rear window stainless trim, rather I am flush mounting the glass and using a block T molding around them. So after the car began to come together I begin to think that having the black T molding is going to look weird unless there are some additional bits to associate with it. Basically I came to a realization that I either needed to go back to the stainless molding around the windows (which I know many would advocate for) or try something different. I did/do not want to black everything out (specifically the door handles which IMO would not look good black and I dont like them body color).

Given that the door handles remain chrome and there is a bit of stainless still showing below the current blacked out piece, I am thinking it might not look horrible. Its a bit difficult to ascertain at this point without the entire car together to see if it will flow visually or not. Here is a side view for consideration. I guess the upside to all of this is that I can go any direction but I really wanted to give this car a slight modern feel while retaining some of the old school flavor.

I like flush mounted front and rear glass on early muscle cars. A lot of 67-69 Camaro owners, especially pro-touring guys, flush mounted the glass and only used black rubber molding. You have to be committed because it is difficult to go back to metal trim.

The way I am doing this car it could be returned to using the trim, it wouldn't be fun but it could be done. Like I said, I am looking for a modern feel/look but still have that old school feel.

I will be flush mounting the glass and using the T molding and then see how it all looks. If I don't like it, well then on to plan B. As far as the side stainless goes, it would just be removing the tape.

You are a glutton for punishment for sure.  Yes it has been a very long and interesting journey thus far, still have a ways to go.

What would you like reference the throttle bodies, pictures or information?

Who makes the throttle bodies?  What EFI system you gonna run?

The throttle bodies and fuel rails are made by F&B Throttle bodies, he configures the intake as well (has the injector bungs installed).

Your post about flush mounted glass piqued my interest again. So, spoke with Fesler this morning. Fesler sells a flushed mounted front windshield and rear glass kit, but only for early Mustg FSTBKs, classic Camaros, and GM classic trucks. The glass is dimensionally larger and is urethaned in place flush. Fesler said they determine which model they make the kit for by how many calls they get for a particular model. Anyway, Fesler put my name on their waiting list/first right of refual list if they get enough calls to justify the expense of making the kit for MOPARS.

I would be interested in how their "kit" works.

When I was in the planning phase of the car, I decided that I wanted flush mounted glass and discovered that are 3 ways to do it

1. use the stock glass and modify the window channel to position the glass where you want it
2. make a "shim" that goes under the glass and positions the glass where you want it
3. use butyl tape in a sufficient thickness to position the glass where you want it

Regardless of which method you use, you need to insert some type of molding around the sides and top. When I was at SEMA 2 years ago, I looked at several E bodies that had flush mounted glass, specifically I was interested in the trim. Once builder I talked to told me to get 3/4 T molding and that would do the trick. I am using butyl tape and the T molding. We will see how it works out.

I think you'd find their website interesting. There are about 25 photos posted there. They will not offer instructions (liability issue?) on how to do it because only glass shops know the workings of urethane installed glass. Several members of a Camaro forum posted how to do it using urethane not Butyl tape. I've installed front and rear glass on several pony cars and it it pretty easy if you have 37" sleeve length. LOL

I've put glass into several cars using both butyl tape and urethane and both work. There is another member here who has done the same thing I am which is where I got the idea.

Work is going slow for a variety of reasons, not the least of my procrastination... lol

I am currently making the brackets for my overflow and windshield wiper tanks, almost done and will have to test fit, then paint and install it all.

Today I got the upper radiator hose made and installed, I also worked on the steering column some and lastly test fitted the hood to check for clearance (which appears good).

On the heater hose, I had to make a connector piece and the new pipe bead roller I got from Jegs works great. The pipe was a bit  tough so I had to heat it up slightly but it worked out.
