Ok, so I can't figure out how to get these pics small enough to post   :clueless:

Use photobucket.com.  Upload your pics, click on the pic you want and like the link on the right and the paste it in your post.

Thanks, I'll try that next time. In the mean time thanks AARTA340 for taking care of those pics for me!

Interesting moldings down the body lines. I like the Starsky and Hutch graphics too. It might be a nice little project under all that.

Would those moulding a be the v5x option code on the fender tag?

I think the rt in mailbox letters is a nice touch too

Not trying to scare you off but that's going to be a major project . Expect at least having 40-50k into it by the time your done. More if you have someone else do it. Just be sure you know what your in for....  :grinyes:

Thanks, this seems like a great forum, everybody's been super helpful so far!

Are you thinking 40-50k just in parts? B/c we do all our work ourselves, including metal, body, paint, upholstery, engine, etc. We've done a few cars from the ground up before, this is just our first Mopar.

Depending on what's usable , yes it could be that high. Engine , drivetrain....$$$  I'd bet it's an easy 10K in parts from AMD
( body sheet metal) ? I've found it's all the little things that really add up quick hardware, wiring, glass, rims , tires  etc... It never seems to end! :faint: :grinyes:

This is one of the best places to buy parts and he gives us members on here a discount. Just look around to get an idea what Mopar restoration parts cost.

A quick and easy way to resize on an iPad, mail them to yourself, click on "images" to the right, choose medium image size.

While I completely agree that it will not be cheap to fix; if you have done the cars you mentioned (the Vettes) and such and have a good source of knowledgeable buddies, you can possibly build this car into something fair for a reasonable price. By reasonable I mean like $20-$30K depending on how nice and high speed you want to go and do all the work yourself; shop for deals on the needed components, save what you can, etc. You are going to need someone who is a Mopar guy or spend a lot of time on here as Mopars are vastly different than Vettes, Chevys, etc. If you make the mistake of using some GM or ford components like brake boosters, radiators, etc on that car it will ruin the value and be shunned by much of the Mopar community.

what everyone (or most) is trying to tell you is YES the car can be saved, rebuilt and made into a cool car. No it is not rare within the Mopar community, Yes it is still cool. My personal advice; if you love Challengers (you will need this love to sustain you through what is going to be a painful, trying, expensive endeavor), buy it for as cheap as you can get it, build it into whatever you want it to be (restored, restomod, G machine, etc) and enjoy it. Are you going to be able to flip it at BJ for 500K... NO you are not. You need to build it to enjoy it. If you are thinking of building it to flip it and make money, good luck with that.
Current Mopar
70 Challenger RT 440-6 EFI, 73 Cuda 416-6 EFI
05 Hemi Durango, 01 Ram 4x4, 14 Ram 2500 4X4, 10 PCP Challenger 6 spd RT, 01 Viper GTS ACR, 52 B3B w/330 Desoto Hemi, 70 Hemi RR (under const)
Past Mopars
9 x Challengers. AAR Cuda, 4 RR, 2 GTX, 4 Chargers, etc... (too many to list)

Unless you have ALLOT of room, as well as time, to dedicate space for the long haul to work on this project, I would reconsider.  Having to move stuff around, in and out and around the space asks for loosing stuff and damage.  Frankly, as said, and I agree, unless you have some sheet metal, paint and interior guys to help, it will be project that will probably die and you will loose money in the end run.  I have seen it many time to various folks over the last decades

For guys that dont have the handymen available to help, I will always recommend, go for good solid cosmetics FIRST:  A complete interior resto alone will cost more than an engine rebuild.  And I haven't even gone into sheetmetal work, painting, trim, etc.  That stuff is very high in both labor and parts costs.

There are way more solid cars still out here, and there are some good deals still to be found:  I'd rather pay $15000 for a car that is good cosmetically, but needs a complete motor and tranny, than pay $5000 for a running car that needs sheetmetal paint and interior
