I got the car from sand blasting and it was time to assess the damage.

Quarter panels were in pretty bad shape, taillight panel needed replacement, trunk floor needs repair, the rest is pretty good.

I decided to order a skin for driver quarter, and a new tail light panel

At this point I thought, "Well, OK, if I'm doing it right, I might as well go big!".

I definitely did not want to take the "old school mopar" away from the Cuda, so EFI, 4 link suspension, engine swap, modern transmission were not a choice for me. I started to think what can I do with the car so it handles and drives better, but still stays 70s muscle car. I read a lot of material, including various threads on this forum, searched for opinions on other sites, and finally came to this formula (which I think is pretty obvious, no rocket science here): I decided to stay with carbureted 440 and 4 speed manual, but install a Hotchkis TVS, new steering box, make some chassis bracing, and put a new exhaust with an X-pipe.

The last question was color. I got 3 variants - original TB3 Basin Street Blue, FY1 Lemon Twist or 70s FJ6 Sassy Grass. That was a difficult one. One or two weeks it took me to make up my mind, but my choice was FY1.

And as you can see I already got new rims!

I opened my laptop, navigated to summit racing and said farewell to a considerable amount of money :(

Meanwhile my friend was experimenting with paint...

I want it to be as close to original configuration as possible, so it will be black longitudinal stripe

I like the yellow choice because it's an original colour for the year :2thumbs: The green is not.
I've taught you everything you know.....but I haven't taught you everything I know !

I like the yellow color choice also.
A bit biased though.
At least with the new paint you shouldn't have to answer the many questions of "when you paint it what color will you change it to?"
Seems it is a love it or hate it color.

Removing the warning labels one at a time.
Nature will take care of the rest.

Well, I apologize for not posting anything... I'm going to fix it now.

I finally got spare parts, and we started the body work. We put driver quarter, tail light panel, repaired front fenders, an passenger quarter...
