Interesting!
From the factory, it was GB5 blue, with a P6B5 blue vinyl interior, and V1W white vinyl top.  Coded for the Rallye dash (A62), the steering column was X9 black, which is unusual as the steering column is normally painted the interior color with the A62 dash.

And it ame with Rallye Wheels, code W21.  NICE!!

From factory...one ugly ass combo hahaha.  It was painted plum crazy 30 years ago(the paint you see on it)   the blue interior was still there, actually is leather not vinyl.   Under the back seat I found the build sheet, I'm 100% the seats are originL,.    Prolly a chick ordered it who wanted something pretty girly, but fast and fun.   Haha

Mine is Blue on Blue, with a Black vinyl top.  i get a lot of compliments at the shows i go to, as it is not another black interior car.

It is very pretty.   the problem with me is I don't necessarily like to the original set up on it so I might keep the parts and modify it a little bit how I like it.  I am a huge fan of black interior.  I'm 27 I want to enjoy the car for another 30 years, or sell it when it's done.  Haven't decided yet.  It is unique because there were only 16 383 4bb 4 speed cars made in 71. College loans are a pain, destroyed and continues to destroy the American youth.

Don't get me wrong.  i'm not saying to go back to the original color.  You do what you want. it is your car.  i just like to see how cars came from the factory to educate myself.  i learned something from your car, that i never knew.

Mine started out as a flat hood 318, four wheel drum, power steering car. When i bought it, it had a 440, and the performance hood & dual eshaust valence.  i wasn't complaining.  i added the hockey stick stripes, and rear go wing spoiler, front disc, and rallye dash.

If you want to clone it into a 'cuda, you don't need my permission.  I am more than happy that you have a cool e-body!!  i just personally like GC's, so i kept mine with all the badging, trim, & argent tail panel. and in some ways, it was kinda fun tracking down those items that had been lost/removed along the way.

We all here at C-C.com would love to see you restore it to your dreams!

Thanks!  I don't know 100% what to do yet. Disc brakes is a must though ha-ha. I'll keep everyone posted.

I seen a challenger in those colors and it looked good.  Regardless of what color combination you decide to
Make the car.  I would have to go with cuda fenders.

Already bought those.   Deciding on shaker hood or not... Know of a reputable supplier who makes a decent kit?

Dave at Roseville is a sponsor here and does offer very competitive prices/discounts to members of the forum. He just shared a link for another member about shaker stuff and a quick search would probably find it. Here is a link to the home page.

I really love Gran Coupes, what an amazing find. Good thing is this car has been found and saved, no matter how you decide to build it to your personal taste. That is what it is all about in the end. Congrats  :2thumbs:

Cool car. I think down the road barracuda and gran coupes will have good value. There are only so many 71s out there and people won't car as much if it's a BS bh or bp car. They will buy what they can afford. Makes me want to go buy that 71 barracuda 318 rallye hood numbers matching car I just found :2thumbs:
