New Member! Tommy - 1970 Plymouth 'Cuda 440
« on: August 30, 2015 - 10:50:51 PM »
Hey everyone... My name is Tommy and i'm from Long Island, NY
I have a 1970 Cuda 440 that i've been restoring with my father since I was about 13 and it's nearly finished.
We go to the local shows with it and every year we take the trip to the Chrysler Nationals up in Carlisle PA.
Just joined the forum in hopes to learn a few things from everyone, but mainly be a part of something, a community of Mopar freaks just like myself!
Thank you and I hope to get to know most of you soon!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

To answer your question about the history of the car, I had purchased a 70 Duster 340 as my first car back when I was 13. Just something to work on with my dad until I had gotten my licence. I LOVED that car...but one day my dad caught wind of someone selling a 1970 Cuda 440, it was in real rough shape but I had to have it. So I sold my Duster and bought the Cuda and its all history from there. We've made yearly trips to the Mopar Nationals in Carlise PA every year  to get body parts or whatever parts we needed... it's been a 15 year restoration. These aren't cheap! She's come a long way and is nearly done... we just installed new front and rear bumpers yesterday actually. I'm proud to say that my father and I have done 90% of the restoration ourselves. She started life as a 318 Gran Coupe, but by the time we got her she already had the 440 in her and was on her way to being the 'Cuda clone she is today. It's not a show car or trailer queen... shes a DRIVER and we love it.

To answer the question about which mirror that is, I believe it is the original Gran Coupe mirror possibly? I have both sport mirrors, they just need to be painted and installed..

Thanks guys!
