With all the work you've done in the rear suspension area lately I'd be more suspect that something to do with that or the change in ride height has caused this issue to arise rather than jumping into mechanical part failure...
I've read your post several times & there's just not enough info to hazard a guess IMO...

That was my initial thought as well...but I just can not find anything rubbing or lose anywhere.

Other than this little bracket rubbing the pipe:

the upper nut in the first picture has a wider flange which is the nut to hold the retainer but it doesn't matter what position it is in so it can be on any of the 5 studs

May be time to change the axle bearings. They're not lubed from the diff, just greased. Change both sides to be safe.

On my work van I got a leaf added for the extra weight I was carrying. When I did that the bushings started to squeak . Drives me nuts. I have to keep squirting oil on the bushings to keep them quiet. I wonder if your having a similar issue? I can't remember if you got new leaf springs of removed a leaf?

I dearched the leaf springs. Which seem to have an added leaf.

I also added new poly bushings in both ends of the leafs.

I don't think thats it though. The sound was more of a rubbing whizzing sound, like something rubbing as it turned.

By description it really does sound like wheel bearings.

I had bearings that were making a deep grinding noise while driving, when they had a load on them, not when I just rotated the wheels in the air. Changed them and the noise was gone.

:iagree: wheel bearing noise is usually felt and heard while turning the car. The outside bearing get more vehicle weight applied to it and then it makes noise. Turn left and the passenger side is loaded and drivers side on a right turn. Which ever side is noisy, I would change both sides. There is a few threads here on the how to replace the axle bearings. I prefer the old style taper rollers over the newer green bearings, but either will work. Good luck!

Thanks for all the help guys.  Turned the adjuster in so there is only a small amount of play and the sound is gone.

Now I just need to find a locking tab.

I will probably replace the bearings and seals this winter.

On to my next issue...

Good idea as the axle bearings have been compromised. You can make a tab or get one at a wrecking yard. They're easy to get. Dodge 1500 series trucks and vans generally used the 8.75 Mopar axle for quite some time. Good luck!
