Don't rely on grounding the vr with the sheet metal mounting bolt. Make up a ground wire to the motor    :2cents:   Everything on our build has it's own ground wire to battery or block.
That's what happened to me when I installed the new VR, nothing, when I made a ground wire to the motor... It worked excellent

Well, replaced the VR, and everything is back to normal. Took
car out and running good. Thanks for the input.
Now back to cruising the town, and street lights, and reminding people
what's a real muscle car!
72 Cuda, owned 25 years. 496, with ported Stage VI heads, .625 in solid roller, 254/258 at .050, 3500 stall, 3.91 rear. 850 Holley DP, Reverse manual valve body.

1999 Trans Am, LS1, heads, cam, headers, stall, etc! Love to surprise the rice rockets with this one. They seem so confident, then it's "what the heck just happened?"

:2thumbs:   I really like your fresh air system on your avatar pic. Are you picking up the air under the valance aka  Olds 442, or under the bumper in the opening between valance/bumper. ?   Would you mind sharing some pics of the setup. ?  Thanks.        :rebel:

you figure 1.5% power gain for every 10 degree drop in carb air inlet temp.
so you drop carb air by 50 degrees, then that's 7.5%.
on 500 hp engine, thats 37.5 hp gain.
cheapest hp on the planet!

Very nice set up, thanks for sharing. I've always been a fan of cheap HP gains, and colder air is free  :jumping:. Now if I can just talk Toxicwolf into letting me put some BIG holes in the radiator support.    :woohoo:
