Best sources for restoration parts
« on: September 13, 2015 - 06:02:56 AM »
OK, now that I finally received my new ride I am ready to begin working to restore it.
I would like to know if any of you have any feedback on the good and bad of the quality and any issues of ordering and installing rear quarter panels (full, not patch). I do not need any other panels except maybe the LF fender. The structure is solid on this car(originally from AZ).
Also, looking to find good sources for interior and exterior trim.
I have seen a lot of ads on eBay but, not so sure the savings are worth the risk of buying crappy quality parts.
I will be doing all of the work myself.
Thanks and love the posts; very inspiring.

Contact member Mopardave  on here, he works at Roseville which is also a sponsor of this site. We get a discount and Dave always knows who's parts are best. I've come to depend on Dave many times over the years!  :2thumbs:

if you need quarter panels you will probably need outer wheel house and trunk floor extensions.

agree with the others here with regards to Roseville.

Is the quality of the body lines and fitment good from Roseville? I was thinking of 1/4's from Classic Industries. They seem to have a competitive price and decent looking from the pix.
Don't need the outer wheelhouse but, do need trunk extensions for sure. Rest of trunk, floors, braces and all of the structure are solid with barely any surface rust. Was very surprised. Most of the rot is outer quarter areas.
I will however need a complete interior as well as door hinges, trim and a grille.
If anyone knows where to find a Ralleye Dash for not crazy $$ I'd be interested.
Gonna be getting the body blasted in next couple weeks then its on to panel replacement. I'll post some pix as we go.

Dave is a Mopar Guy, he knows what your doing & what works.. Classic has been GM only for most of it's time in business, only jumped into Mopars in the last 5 years or so... They source their stuff same as Dave so quality is a wash.. Most sheetmetal these days comes from two sources & Dave will point you toward the better part....

For body panels I'll think you will find most everyone suggest AMD panels.   Like what was said above only a couple company's are making these parts so where you can get availability and cost  but shipping is usually the deciding factor.  I find it's worth it to make a list and take a drive to save on shipping costs. That's why Carlisle is so popular for parts...  :2cents:

2 main sources; AMD and Goodmark. I have used both and I can say with a degree of confidence that AMD is the way to go. I just installed AMD quarters and their quality is great. In fact you will probably find that they are better than the car you are putting them on; meaning if things do not line up exactly, it isn't the quarter. My driver's side almost fell on whereas the passenger side fought every step. This is because that side of the car had a lot of damage over the years and things were not exactly where they were supposed to be.

thanks all for the vote of confidence.

problem with the 2 big box stores and some ebay on sheet metal. You do not know what your getting. I for one know what I am selling and the customer knows what they are getting. We can take care of all of your parts needed. We are direct with legendary for seat skins as with all of the other main vendors. Its up to you if you want to deal with one company to get all of your parts. Or spend the time and research for multiple vendors to save a few bucks but the shipping will add up quickly. AMD is preferred from most customers.
We have seen quality issues with the 3 sheet metal suppliers. some better or worse. Depends on the car and customer. As noted above also. Not all panels get damaged in transit. Shipments are insured but need to be inspected to be replaced. Email me a list of parts your needing.  you'll see the naked truth once its stripped

thanks
