4 wheel discs remove proportioning valve from combination valve?

This car has 4 wheel discs with a factory drum/disc master cylinder with the rear brake residual valve removed. Also it has an adjustable proportioning valve in the rear brake line. With an adjustable proportioning should I remove the factory proportioning valve from the combo vavle? Jim

I believe the factory valves only function was to turn on the warning light should you loose pressure in the front or rear . I believe it would make no differance removing it or leaving it in.

I've got one of these (distribution block and pressure warning switch) with an adjustable proportioning valve on the rear line.   I did this because I wanted to keep the warning light.  I should also note that I have manual brakes and a modern MC.



You could pipe the MC Front to the two front lines with a Tee and pipe the MC Rear to the adjustable prop valve and that to the rear line.

This style is a combo distribution/warning/proportioning block.  Intended for rear drums.  I _think_ removing the proportioning valve/spring would make it act like the block above (do research first!!!)

Found a proportioning combo valve rebuild kit from https://www.musclecarresearch.com/ They have a cut away picture of the front discs/rear drum combo valve I have, the red circle is marking a spring for ID of a different valve. My combo valve has the switch and a proportioning valve separated in the assembly.  Since my car no longer has rear drum brakes I can/ should loose the proportioning valve made for discs/rear drum and it would not effect the light safety switch by using the separate adjustable proportioning valve in rear line. Thanks to those who have answered  Your thoughts and comments are needed and appreciated
