3 CARS TO COMPARE.mine has been lowered maybe 3/4 of an inch, but 17x8 wheels with 4 inch back space brings the wheels out a bit ,making it look lower

I didn't even drive the car, took the springs right back off and returned them....too low for me.
Looks like a little higher than original factory height to me.  The XHD's are right on the money. Give them a year and they would have settled to the right height. And then you could have lowered the front.  :bigsmile:

Here's  my 70 Barracuda.

I Lowered it 1" in the back. Then I set the  Torsion bars  to just allow a low profile jack to get under the k frame.

If you look at some of the comparisons, the 17"+ sized wheels do give an illusion of being lowered further than equivalent diameter 15" wheels because of the reduced sidewall height.

My '72. It has 17x9" rims on all 4 corners, 275/40/17's for tires all around as well. 1.12" firm feel torsion bars. I'm lowered to where the UCA's are basically parallel with the ground. I have a little less than 4" from the ground to the flanges on my Hooker Super Comp headers. In the back I just have Mopar XHD springs, which sagged pretty considerably after a couple months on the car.

Do you have a stock oil pan?  And issues running that low??  I also have a set of those headers...do you happen to run ta fast ratio arms??

Hotchkis TVS with 1.18 torsion bars almost as low as I can go.  Need smaller or delete bumpstops.  Those are 235/60 15s.  I also run the fast ratio arms and with my 275/40 17 Falken 615s on the same rims 72blunblu runs, I have a slight rub at full lock from the back of the tire at the rear.  I am sure a t/a box with the modified stops wouldn't rub.

Stock oil pan. I actually ran it around with the header flanges at 3.5" to the ground for awhile, but it got too annoying crawling over speed bumps at 2mph and a 45* angle all the time to keep from dragging the flanges. At a little less than 4" to the ground I almost never have any problems with speed bumps. Even at 3.5" to the flanges the only thing I ever dragged was the header flanges, I never had any issues with anything else dragging. I don't have the fast ratio steering arms, just the stock stuff.

I use Energy Suspension 9-9132G. They're .375" tall.



You can also use 9-9121G, they're the same round, button style as above but they're .687" tall.

My hotchkis UCA's came with 9-9118G, they're rectangular and .875" tall.

Digging this back up because my car is finally on the ground. Have it lowered on hotchkis torsion bars, from ground to bottom center of the fender well is 25". I'm running 235/60/15 tires. It's close enough to the inner wheel well brace that it may hit under flexing. Anyone in here cut that brace out or not have any issues? Running QA1-TS507 shocks made for chevy's that are about an inch shorter on compression and extension to help with lowering the front.

Here's a pic, honestly I'd like to tuck the front tire a bit more but I'll lose header/oil pan clearance:

Best pic I could find. Stock old, sagging, rear springs w/ Dr. Diff hangers that have a 1" drop built it. Torsion bars are 1.06 set pretty low. Front wheels are 17", rears are 18"

Pink car, the brace is modified, it was cut, extended to follow the fender contour & reinforced....  In pictures it looks kinda low, in fact it's about 3" lower than my car & my car sits slightly lower than stock.....   Rear tires are 305/50-15"s on 15x10" wheels.... B body housing & shackles we built long before they were available...  Front tires are 235/60-15 on 15x6.5

I don't think you want to cut the brace out, a lot of us are welding in heavier braces to avoid flexing
