I stopped at his Museum in Ocala otw to Disney a few years ago. By pure luck he happen to be in the building and walked towards me down the aisle as I was standing there looking like an idiot staring at him thinking "Theres Garlits !!"
The look on my face must have been very obvious because he started laughing and said "Yes its me. Any questions ? " I told him about standing by the fence at the starting line in '71 when Carbone and him got into a staging game and he lost.  He laughed and  said "most people don't have the balls to mention that to my face ! " He answered a few other questions for about 10 minutes, shook my hand and then left. I got out to the car and looked at my camera sitting in the seat.  :banghead:

What a great museum that is showing the tireless work and effort of Don Garlits!
Bought his book there , two years ago, that chronicles up to Swamp Rat 34.

Don't like the electric, but Big Daddy has earned the right to do whatever he wants.
