Sorry about hijacking the thread but here it is. My motor on a 2,000 dollar budget.  Here is my shopping list: pistons .030 over flat top 400, stealth heads and arp bolt kit 1087, extreme energy cam 21-224-4 and lifter set 206, timing chain 48 Mopar5153525 dual plane 226, chrome valve covers 35. Here is where it is costing extra because it is an RV motor. Oil pan 95, oil pickup tube 20 windage trey 33. Comp cams break in oil 36 full gasket set 130.  total 2,316. Yeah I know I'm little over. I just had to have those aluminum heads.

No problem!!

I starting to come around to the idea of buying a hydro-boost system.

Does anyone have a strong recommendation on which one to purpose?  I've heard of Tallon and Hydratech Braking systems.

Just a thought.
I don't know the answer to this, nor do I have experience with, but would manual brakes work? I know their are people here that have them. Maybe start a thread asking opinions on manual brakes? Jim

Do a google search manual vs power brakes with "cuda challenger" at the end, more of these will come up. Searching for topics like that works best for me anyway, seems to search better than the one on this site for some reason. Found this;

magoo426, I have almost the same setup as you with the same cam, but I'm running 3.91 gears and a 4 speed. I have 14"' vacuum at idle and I am using Wilwood 4 piston front and rear brakes. I have a stock Mopar front disc, rear drum power brake master cylinder and prop valve with an adjustable valve in the rear line. The brakes work fine with the vacuum I have. At cruise the vacuum is over 20". Next year I think I'm going to switch to a Wilwood master. It's got to be better than the 40 year old one that's in there now.

Hi JoeGrapes.  That's good to hear about your brakes working fine.  I picked up a master cylinder and brake booster from Dr Diff.  So i'm hoping everything works fine
