Upgrade radiator from 2-row to 3-row?
« on: September 18, 2015 - 03:34:33 PM »
So I'm told my 26" radiator is plugged (for my 340).  I can either purchase a new one or re-core my existing using the top and bottom to maintain stock OEM look.  Would it be worth upgrading from the stock 2-row to 3-row?  I've read that upgrading to 3-row may not be that much more efficient as the to fit 3-rows, the tubes will be smaller translating to the surface area being smaller.

Any recommendations on what I should do?  Thanks in advance for any feedback.

I would base answer on what type of driving you intend to do and also the average climate of where you are. If non spirited driving and/or cooler climate I would stick to stock.
Out here on the west coast we got heat, lots of traffic delays and of course the "spirited" driving.
I always increase the core number. Even if improvement is minimal it is still an improvement.

Don't forget a fan shroud.  They help immensely.

Thanks Mike.  I'm in Northern California so what you indicated is what I have...

I am using the stock shroud.  Thanks.
