Maybe I'm missing something, but why does it take over a month to get a set of heads?

I'm guessing Summit doesn't have them in stock yet or in their system. They had TF heads in their catalog since May, but not in stock or on listed their website. May be it's some type of marketing scheme? At least we are getting closer. I wouldn't order any until Summit tightens up that delivery date.

I can't wait to try them out too! I was losing faith in TFs ever showing up. I was getting ready to go with Stealth heads, but I like that the TF are 78cc chambered and CNC'd right out of the box! :smilielol:

Looks like the TF heads are about double the price of the 440's stealth.

Yes they are, but when you add the CNC porting to the Stealths its a wash. TF 's are 78cc CNC heart shape chambers and Stealths are "as cast" wedge and around 80cc chamber. TF=2.19" intake, Stealth= 2.14" I could be wrong but I feel the TF's will make more horsepower, on paper anyway. The Stealths are an excellent value for sure and I don't disqualify them by any means. I just feel the TF's are a little better. A dyno comparison will be the judge.:2thumbs:

Still less than most Indy heads ,
I have been looking for the RIGHT head for years , everything seems to have a compromise , with heart shaped chambers & 78 cc they would be a true bolt on head compensating for alum heat loss & should make great power on paper anyway , I have built 440 / 512s with virtually every available head so far . Bulldog had an amazing head but I only got 2 sets before they disappeared .

I've come to the same conclusion- its all a compromise. The Indy heads have an impressive flow, but the long valve design raises the valve cover decreasing clearence at the brake booster ect can be a problem. Also the angle plugs can be a clearence issue on headers other than TTI (I have Hedman). The LV design doesn't do much for you unless you run a Max Wedge port manifold ( I want to keep the alum 6 pack). So the TF's should work best (for my combo).

TF's have great flow numbers. Cant recall exactly,
but up around 330 cfm
72 Cuda, owned 25 years. 496, with ported Stage VI heads, .625 in solid roller, 254/258 at .050, 3500 stall, 3.91 rear. 850 Holley DP, Reverse manual valve body.

1999 Trans Am, LS1, heads, cam, headers, stall, etc! Love to surprise the rice rockets with this one. They seem so confident, then it's "what the heck just happened?"

Yes that's right and the best part is they will fit right in if you have iron 906's. No clearence issues that I'm aware of. This may be a big plus for most people.

After looking closely at the picture of these TF heads, the sparkplug threads look slightly angled to me. TF claims no header interference on any brand. I haven't found any pics with plugs installed yet.

I believe your right, they do look to be angle plugs?

I'm going for them anyway once they are in stock at Summit. I have Hedman headers and they look similar  to TTIs around the exhaust port flanges. I don't see a problem with plug clearence in my case. I'm very impressed with the dyno results of a .030" over 440 w/ flat top pistons pulling over 600 hp with a Comp Extreme Energy cam! Imagine what a 512" will produce?
