Camshaft for 499ci stroker
« on: October 02, 2015 - 04:25:39 PM »
Hello!

I need help for choosing cam for my 499 RB stroker.

Car is -70 Challenger with 5-speed manual trans (4th 1.0 5th 0.68)
Engine:

4.375"bore x 4.15"stroke 440 block = 499cid
Eddy RPM heads, mildly ported
Approx 11.5 comp ratio
Modified Torker II intake with dominator (because needs to fit under stock R/T hood)
Hooker 2" headers with 2x3" exhaust

Comp Cams pro magnum rockers

Do you have similar combos? What cam you use? I'd like to go with solid flat tappet or solid roller.

Car usage will be 80% street 20%strip

Have who ever is building it look at the spring bind/ max lift that the heads can take and flow of the heads. This will tell a lot when picking a cam.
Its just a little 340 with a miss
